Thanks to funding from District Councillor Alvin Finch, County Councillor Geoff Cook and South Lakes Housing, Kirkbarrow now has a Defibrillator for community use.
It is housed on the external wall of the entrance porch to Flats 29-35 Greengate Lane.
If needed, you will be directed to it and told how to open it by the North West Ambulance Service when calling 999 to report your medical emergency. They will talk you through everything and stay on the line until the Paramedics attend.
We are also very fortunate in having 5 First Responders living on or near Kirkbarrow, who often turn out as volunteers to assist in a medical emergency until the Paramedics arrive.
